please delete me!
5 January, 2011In the last few days I decided to delete my Hyves account and other accounts. I have many accounts everywhere and almost none of them I use actively anymore. Today I have deleted my Hyves accunt, Myspace, last.fm, Seesle, Livejournal, and Plurk. I think it’s better to have very few accounts left and optimize them. I don’t want to be fragmented anymore. I still keep my Twitter account, but for how long? Is it just to lurk and keep my username? On all websites it is very easy to create an account, but it’s very hard to get rid of them! It can take up to 24-48 hours before an account is gone. Sometimes the information is still available when you log in again after some time. It happened to a friend of mine on Facebook. The Twit Army doesn’t even has an option to delete an account. Other websites do not exist anymore (twine.com) or are unavailable, like ning.com and scripting.com. It looks like it’s hard to disappear from the Internet, even if it would work, there’s Google who saves everything…
